Gruesome Wolverine Gameplay Trailer Reveals Jean Grey Joining The Fight

Today’s State of Play opened with a new look at a mission from Wolverine, Insomniac’s next PS5 action game, and included a first look at Jean Grey. The game is set to arrive on September 15 and is a PS5 exclusive. The mission shows Wolverine fighting into a guarded base where young mutants are being taken away, and he must slice and dice both men and women with some genuinely gory kills to reach them.

It makes clear this won’t be as family-friendly as Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Insomniac also confirmed Mystique and Sabertooth will be included. Later, Jean Grey appears and uses her powers to help Wolverine, who finds a motorcycle and pursues the young mutants in a sequence that leans into Uncharted-style action.

When he reaches them, one asks if he is a superhero; Logan replies, "No, I’m Wolverine," before leaping back out to fight an army of baddies. Insomniac reconfirmed Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure, so don’t expect co-op modes.
