Jon Peddie Research's latest numbers show 11.82 million PC graphics cards shipped in the first quarter of 2026, a hair below the 11.9 million JPR estimated for Q4 2025 but well up from 9.2 million in Q1 2025. These figures track shipments to graphics card manufacturers rather than to retailers or end customers, so the uptick could reflect manufacturers stockpiling memory ahead of shortages.

That means the next few quarters will be needed to confirm whether the market is genuinely strengthening. AMD's share remains stuck at 8% in the new figures, the same as the prior quarter. JPR had initially listed AMD at 5% for Q4 2025 but revised that quarter upward by 400,000 shipments, taking AMD to 8% and about one million units in the updated tally.

That large revision, and past classification errors such as including Intel datacenter chips as gaming GPUs, undermines confidence in JPR's numbers.
