The Google Nest Wired Outdoor Cam is a plug-in security camera designed for round-the-clock monitoring of your home's exterior. It draws power from a standard outdoor outlet and offers the same Google Smart Alerts and two-way talk found on the wireless Nest Cam.

Amazon has reduced the price to $198 from $250, a 21% discount. The wired design lets the camera record continuously instead of only activating when motion is detected. Continuous recording provides a full timeline of events across the property and removes the need to climb a ladder to swap batteries every few months, which is common with battery-powered outdoor cameras.

Always-on power also supports higher-resolution 2K HDR video and color night vision, making faces and license plates easier to see and keeping after-dark footage useful.
