Google engineer and podcaster quit to build AI startup
Aashna Doshi, 23, left a software engineering role at Google in New York City to build an AI startup with her podcast cohost. Earlier, she turned down a California-based offer so she could take the New York role after graduating from Georgia Tech. While at Google she launched the "0 to 1" podcast in early 2025 to pursue a more creative and interactive outlet.
The show—focused on the journeys people take from where they started to who they are—featured founders, engineers, executives, and creators and surpassed 100,000 YouTube views in its first year, helping her connect with leaders at companies such as Amazon and Microsoft.
In May she left Google to focus full time on Bounty, an outcome-based AI marketplace where companies post tasks like sourcing candidates or generating leads and pay only for verified results. She said the podcast provided confidence and a built-in audience of founders and operators who match the startup’s target users.
