Goo Goo Dolls' Johnny Rzeznik shudders at idea of sex to 'Iris'

At the Songwriters Hall of Fame gala, Goo Goo Dolls lead singer Johnny Rzeznik insisted he has never put "Iris" on a playlist and had sex to it. "No, never!" he exclaimed, then mimed calling over to a woman, "Hey, baby, listen to this? Yeah, here it comes!" He said the idea horrified him and joked that other musicians at the event "have done that." Rzeznik, who married Melina Gallo in 2005 and shares a daughter, Liliana, formed the band with bassist Robby Takac in 1985 and enjoyed its biggest success in the 1990s with hits such as "Slide," "Name" and "Iris." He said his finances were "really good" until "Napster came along and then you know, iTunes and streaming," but added, "What are you going to do?" shrugging.
