A leak says a remaster of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee will arrive on November 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2. It’s being developed by Pipeworks and published by Atari, and is said to include a new online multiplayer mode, overhauled graphics and unlock systems, and additional single-player story content.

The original 2002 GameCube fighter lets players rampage through retro-futuristic cities, battling other monsters as they both save and destroy Earth. It lives fondly in memories of those who played it at a friend’s house or rented it from Blockbuster, and was nominated for fighting game of the year before losing out to Tekken 4.

One Reddit thread captured the feeling: “Name one bad thing about Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee?” the top response read. “That it’s not remastered yet.” The timing is notable because Grand Theft Auto VI is due on November 19, and many publishers have avoided launching close to its release.
