Glen Powell Confirmed for Sci-Fi Thriller Homewreckers

Glen Powell has been signed to star in and produce the sci-fi thriller Homewreckers, and Supergirl director Craig Gillespie is in talks to direct the project for Legendary Pictures. The film is based on an unpublished novella by Neil Paik, who is adapting the screenplay.

Homewreckers sparked a competitive bidding war in 2024, with Legendary beating Lionsgate, New Regency, Sony and Warner Bros. for the rights. It is unclear whether Paramount Pictures will distribute the movie as part of Legendary's three-year deal signed in September 2025.

No release date has been set, though the film could aim for 2027. Powell remains busy: 2026 has featured performances in How to Make a Killing and voicing Fox McCloud in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, he leads J.J. Abrams' The Great Beyond later in the year, and he is set to headline Judd Apatow's The Comeback King on Feb.
