George R.R. Martin's Dark 4-Part Thriller Makes Streaming Comeback
George R.R. Martin’s executive-produced Dark Winds has finished its fourth season but remains a strong performer on AMC+’s streaming charts. After its early 2026 release the show climbed to the top of the service’s weekly streaming chart and stayed in the Top 10 throughout the season; two months after Season 4 concluded it ranks as the fourth most popular series on the platform, with The Vampire Lestat (Season 3 of Interview With the Vampire) at number one.
Adapted by Graham Roland from Tony Hillerman’s novels, Dark Winds is set in the 1970s Southwest and follows Navajo police officers Leaphorn and Chee. They investigate a double murder that is followed by a seemingly unrelated wave of crimes, forcing both men to confront troubled pasts tied to life on the reservation.
Fargo’s Zach McClarnon leads the cast alongside Jessica Matten, Kiowa Gordon, Deanna Taushi Allison, Jenna Elfman, A Martinez, Bruce Greenwood and Franka Potente.
