George Miller is still looking to head back to the wasteland. He wants to make another Mad Max movie and a TV show before saying goodbye to the series. He recently met with studios to drum up interest; Amazon, Universal, and Sony are all interested, while Warner Bros.

has passed on the potential projects. Fury Road was adored by critics and fans and made $380 million at the box office, but it was estimated to have lost $20 to $40 million. The prequel, Furiosa, didn't perform any better and only grossed about $174 million, despite strong critical reception.

If Miller does get to make a sixth Mad Max and a TV series, they'd be his final marks on this franchise that began nearly 50 years ago. He would "then sell the whole property to the highest bidder." He has already hinted at where the series might go next with an idea called Mad Max: The Wasteland, another prequel about what Max was up to before getting captured in Fury Road's opening.
