Gears of War: E-Day PC requirements demand an RTX 2060 and 130GB

At the Xbox Games Showcase, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said, "It's only fitting that as we return to Xbox, we return to Gears." Gears of War: E-Day was revealed as an early-days take on the war with the Locust. It's an Xbox exclusive, though it will also be released on PC.

PC system requirements have now been published. The minimum GPU listed is an RTX 2060, and the game requires a hefty 130 GB of storage on an SSD. The recommended GPUs include options such as the RTX 5060 or RTX 3060 Ti, which are a modest step up from the minimum.

The choice of an RTX 2060 as a minimum could suggest ray tracing is baked into the experience without a software fallback, which would help explain the relatively high baseline GPU requirement, though that isn’t certain. The 130 GB storage demand is notably large, especially amid ongoing memory and storage pressures.

The game is set to launch on October 6 and can be pre-purchased on Steam for $70. Make sure you have the disk space available before installing.
