Gabriel skies decisive penalty as PSG beat Arsenal in shootout

Arsenal lost on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final after Gabriel Magalhaes skied the decisive spot-kick, handing the holders a second consecutive European crown in Budapest. Kai Havertz gave Arsenal an early lead, but Ousmane Dembele's second-half penalty levelled the match and a resolute defence took the game to extra time.

The opener arrived inside six minutes when Marquinhos' clearance struck Leandro Trossard and Havertz ran through to crash a finish into the roof of the net. Arsenal then sat back to protect the lead; Gabriel was outstanding, making multiple huge interventions including a perfectly timed challenge on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the box.

Shortly after the hour Cristhian Mosquera's mistimed lunge wiped Kvaratskhelia out and conceded the penalty that Dembele converted.
