Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket will return to streaming on July 1 and will be available for free on Tubi. Released in 1987 and running 116 minutes, the film follows a group of U.S. Marines from grueling basic training at Parris Island to the realities of combat in Vietnam.

Through the eyes of a recruit-turned-war correspondent it examines the psychological toll of combat, the dehumanizing effects of military conditioning, and the chaos of war. The first half—noted for its boot camp sequences, the tragic arc of Private Pyle and Gunnery Sergeant Hartman's relentless verbal assaults—remains one of cinema's most unforgettable acts.

The cast includes Matthew Modine, Vincent D'Onofrio, Adam Baldwin and R. Lee Ermey, and the film holds a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
