Nintendo Direct offered a brief new look at FromSoftware’s upcoming online action RPG The Duskbloods. There’s still no release date beyond the vague 2026 window originally promised, but the game will hold its first online network test on Switch 2 sometime this summer.

Duskbloods, announced in April 2025 as a Switch 2 exclusive, is billed as the next big RPG from the Elden Ring developers. It supports up to eight players online and leans into Bloodborne-like vibes, as the very short trailer emphasized. The game plays like a battle royale-like experience with PvE missions and discrete rounds.

Players begin in a hub area, enter a match, and the last player left standing wins, though they can sometimes team up to take on a boss or complete other quests during rounds. Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki said that while Duskbloods is an “online multiplayer title at its core,” that doesn’t mean that “we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward.
