'From' Creators Say Season 4 Was Built as First Half of the End Game
From is a low-key sci‑fi horror series on MGM+ about people who arrive in a seemingly normal town, find they cannot leave, and face vicious monsters that emerge each night. The show has been teasing the town's mysteries since 2022 and developed a devoted cult following that enjoys puzzling through its unanswered questions.
Series creator John Griffin says Seasons 4 and 5 were conceived as two parts of a larger whole. He explained that Season 4 needed to stand on its own while also reaching a midpoint — a Rubicon moment — that ushers the series into its end game and allows the creators to tell the story they have planned for Season 5.
The Season 4 finale advanced the plot in significant ways: one character died, another transformed, and the town became more vulnerable than ever. Darkness fell during the day so the monsters could come out whenever they pleased, and the community endured storms and earthquakes.
