Fox to acquire Roku in $22 billion deal

Fox has agreed to acquire the connected-TV platform Roku in a transaction paid with a mix of cash and stock, valuing Roku at about $22 billion, the company said.

The acquisition will pair Fox’s sports, news, and entertainment programming with Roku’s streaming devices and digital-ad business.

Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch called the move “a defining moment for the company.”
