Forza Horizon 6’s latest challenge has turned Tokyo’s busiest junction into pure chaos
A couple of weeks ago the Forza Horizon 6 festival playlist began, adding new challenges across the game's open-world version of Japan. One of the latest tasks, available until Wednesday, June 10, asks players to earn three “awesome” drift or e-drift skills at Shibuya Crossing in the heart of Tokyo.
That challenge has resulted in absolute chaos. Shibuya Crossing is one of the busiest junctions in the city — and the world — and constant attempts to drift across it have left the landmark in disarray. The video in the tweet embedded above shows one example. The carnage stems from two things.
Drifting in Forza Horizon 6 is hard and takes practice, and Shibuya Crossing isn’t a wide-open space ideal for drifting, with plenty of fences around the edges. Vehicles of two real players will ghost through one another and not cause a collision, but hitting a “mob” car, aka one controlled by the game to help make the world feel more alive and add traffic to the roads, will cause a wreck, and there are lots of those, so they quickly pile up.
