Geoffrey Wall of Barrie, Ontario, has been charged after allegedly operating as an Air Canada captain between 2009 and 2025 without the required license. Police say he flew more than 900 domestic and international flights during that period. Air Canada said Wall, 59, held a valid commercial pilot license but was promoted to captain without the airline transport pilot license needed to fly large commercial passenger planes.

The airline said he was removed from active duty once the discrepancy was discovered, that it voluntarily reported the matter to Transport Canada, and that he is no longer employed by the airline; Transport Canada has also fined him for not having the correct license to be an aircraft captain.

Peel Regional Police said anomalies were detected during a documentation check and that Transport Canada contacted police earlier this year. Police also allege the accused filed a false report about allegedly stolen pilot documentation.
