Forget Micro Center's Amazon bundles — Newegg's Prime Day PC upgrade deals win
Micro Center’s in-store bundles remain the best bet for big savings on upgrade parts, but its Amazon storefront doesn’t match up. Many of those online offers are missing the expensive components — notably memory kits and SSDs — so they aren’t as compelling as they first appear.
Newegg, however, has several ready-made bundles that make sensible platform upgrades: a new CPU, motherboard, DRAM, and an NVMe SSD when appropriate. For convenience, the retailer includes a basic air cooler with Ryzen 5 5500 bundles and a 240 mm AIO with the AM5 CPU deals, so you won’t need to source a separate cooler.
Two AM4 options target budget and capacity. The $353 kit pairs a Ryzen 5 5500 with a basic MSI board, 16 GB of DDR4 and a 512 GB SSD; the board still offers a spare M.2 slot and four SATA ports for extra storage. For $458 you get a similar setup bumped to 32 GB of RAM and a Gigabyte motherboard that adds Wi‑Fi 6 support compared with the cheaper MSI board.
