First Trailer for 'By Any Means' Stars Mark Wahlberg, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Paramount has released the first official trailer for By Any Means, which pairs Mark Wahlberg with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Directed by Elegance Bratton and written by Sascha Penn, the action thriller is set in 1966 Mississippi as a notorious mafia hitman and a young Black FBI agent probe the murders of civil rights leaders.
Wahlberg plays Gregory Scarpa and Abdul-Mateen is FBI agent Wayne Strider. The trailer follows their uneasy alliance: Strider attempts to operate within the law while Scarpa uses his standing and brutal methods to push the investigation forward, and the pair come face-to-face with members of the KKK.
The footage confronts the racism and prejudice of the era and closes on the film's central line about getting the job done 'by any means necessary.' The supporting cast includes Giancarlo Esposito, Nicole Beharie and Ethan Embry. Filming took place from Apr. 15, 2025, until Jun.
