First look at six new Disney Lorcana Monsters Inc cards from Attack of the Vine

After April’s Wilds Unknown set introduced Toy Story, Brave and The Incredibles, Attack of the Vine turns to Pixar’s Monsters Inc. Mike Wazowski, Boo, Randall and James P. Sullivan appear among six revealed cards that emphasize more than just the scarier side of the film.

Many of the cards push an inkwell-focused strategy. Boo — Human Child gains +2 Lore if you have five or more cards in your inkwell, and the Sapphire Action Power Surge sends the top two cards of every player’s deck into their inkwell, creating symmetrical ramp that can trigger those payoffs; it could see use in Sapphire/Amethyst control decks that already use Hades — Infernal Schemer.

The set also rewards exerting all your ink. Randall Boggs — Envious Coworker is a 3/1 evasive character for two ink that gains two additional Lore if you’re fully spent. Lorcana does not allow floating ink — you must exert ink to pay for cards — so enabling those fully-exerted effects requires specific tools.
