First Look Behind the Scenes of Disney's Live-Action Tangled
Disney's live-action remake of Tangled is in active production in Spain, where crews are building a real-life version of Rapunzel's tower and preparing to shoot mainly out of Ciudad de la Luz Film Studios in Alicante. The project, in development since 2024, stars Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider and Kathryn Hahn as Gothel, with Diego Luna appearing as a new character.
Images of the tower set have surfaced online, and Milo Manheim's mother, Camryn Manheim, posted photos from a visit to Spain. One picture shows Manheim with Teagan Croft sporting a brown pixie cut — a haircut that plays a key role for Rapunzel late in the original film.
Tangled, released in 2010, helped kick off the modern era of 3D-animated Disney hits such as Frozen and Zootopia. Disney has been remaking its animated films into live-action features for years and has begun adapting more recent 3D titles; a live-action Moana is due out on July 10, 2026.
