Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave gets Sept. 17 release date
Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will launch Sept. 17 on Nintendo Switch 2, the Nintendo Direct confirmed. The game was first announced for Switch 2 earlier in 2026 and arrives three years after Intelligent Systems' previous release, Fire Emblem: Engage. The trailer sticks to the series' mix of soldiers, magic and turn‑based tactical combat, but Fortune's Weave centers on four playable protagonists: Cai, Theodora, Dietrich and Leda.
Their arcs begin at the Dagsion Heroic Games, a Colosseum‑style contest in which the victor's wish is granted by the Divine Sovereign. Footage also ties the new entry to Three Houses: glimpses of demonic beasts, weapons that resemble those with crest stones, and characters with the Nabatean look of green or blonde hair and pointed ears recall Rhea and Sothis.
Sothis appears in the release trailer facing dark forces, and an opening map names the Dagdan Empire and Dagda, hinting that Fortune's Weave may be a prequel to Three Houses.
