Final Fantasy 7 Revelation revealed as final Remake chapter
Square Enix debuted the first footage for the final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy during Summer Game Fest, revealing the game’s title: Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. The stream also included other announcements, such as a new Resident Evil and a new Stellar Blade.
The trailer teases several gameplay elements. Players can pilot the Highwind airship across an open world and parachute down in a seamless transition, visiting many key Final Fantasy 7 locations, including Wutai. Matt Mercer, who voices Vincent Valentine, described the battle system as “perfected.” Vincent will be a playable party member using a rifle, Cid will join with a spear, and the party will have to confront the Weapons—massive creatures spawned by the Planet.
The trailer closed with a glimpse of a Godzilla-sized creature emerging from the ocean. Earlier this year director Naoki Hamaguchi said the project is technically playable but is still being polished.
