Kofi “Koustics” Miller paused a League of Legends stream at the OS NYC gaming lounge on June 18 to intervene after a man began harassing staff and brandished a knife. Koustics helped escort the man out, and when he attempted to re-enter still wielding the weapon, Koustics threw him to the ground and put him in a choke hold until police arrived.

During the incident, the attacker fell on his own knife. Koustics showed the dried blood on his body and shirt on stream and on his X account and said no one else was hurt. The livestream remains on Koustics’ Twitch page; at about 52 minutes viewers can see his eyes widen as he puts down his headset and walks off-camera, and roughly an hour and a half later he returns to tell his friends what happened.

"I'm mad because this was supposed to be my rank-up game," he said after the incident.
