Jon Favreau revealed that the fan-favorite line from The Mandalorian and Grogu was improvised in the director's commentary for the film, which is available via the TheatersEars app.

In the movie Din Djarin is captured and taken to Nal Hutta by Embo, and Grogu and his Anzellan pals set off to rescue him. As the camera pans down the long, dark tunnel the tiny friends must traverse, one of the Anzellans observes, "Big pipe, huh?" Favreau said the line was improvised by Shirley Henderson, who provides the voices for the Anzellans (H/T The HoloFiles).

Favreau also said he reached out to JJ Abrams about the Anzellans — Abrams came to the set — explaining, "I appreciate what you did. Can we – do you mind? Are we handling this well? Are you happy?" He added that he sought George Lucas's permission to use the original Red Jammer model, and that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order provided a key piece of inspiration for a major action sequence.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is in theaters now.
