Fast Forever will bring Fast & Furious back to its roots
For nearly 25 years the Fast & Furious franchise has raced from street-level stories to globe-trotting set pieces. The series that began with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker in 2001 is preparing a farewell titled Fast Forever, a final installment that creators say will return the saga to Los Angeles, the street-racing scene and the core car culture that launched the franchise.
Franchise stalwarts including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson are expected to return, and several characters widely presumed dead were teased as alive at the end of Fast X. A late-film scene revealed Gal Gadot’s character heading to Antarctica to rescue Letty and Cipher, while a mid-credits appearance set up Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs for a comeback.
Vin Diesel announced at Fuel Fest in 2025 that Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner will also be part of the finale, a point later echoed by Jordana Brewster, though the studio has not detailed how that will be handled.
