Rob Cohen’s original The Fast and the Furious will return to theaters on Aug. 21 as The Fast And The Furious: 25th Anniversary rerelease. Tickets for the new screenings are available now via Fandango, and a surprisingly emotional trailer has been released to mark the occasion.

The film launched a multi-billion-dollar franchise, grossing more than $207 million in its initial theatrical run and setting the stage for a long line of sequels. The series reached its commercial peak with Furious 7, which finished its theatrical run at $1.5 billion, while 2023’s Fast X earned roughly half of that total.

Looking ahead, the franchise is not finished: Fast Forever is scheduled for release on March 17, 2028, and Vin Diesel recently announced four Fast and Furious television projects in development at Universal Television, including a live-action show headed to Peacock.
