Fans think they've pinpointed The Witcher 3 Songs of the Past setting

The Witcher 3 community believes it has already worked out where the upcoming Songs of the Past expansion will take place. CD Projekt Red confirmed the DLC and said it will launch in 2027, presenting what appears to be one last ride with Geralt before Ciri becomes the protagonist in The Witcher 4.

Concrete details remain limited. The studio has said the expansion will raise system requirements and will not support Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or PS4, and described Songs of the Past as a major release on par with Blood and Wine. Fans have been dissecting the announcement art for clues.

YouTube creator Neon Knight identified the sword Geralt holds as Melltith, noted for its flower-like pommel; similar elven blades appear elsewhere in The Witcher 3. That observation led to the suggestion the expansion could take place in Cidaris, a region built on the ruins of an elven city.
