Fans Scour Interviews After Deborah Ann Woll’s Laufey Comments

Deborah Ann Woll is starring in God of War Laufey, a parallel story that follows Kratos’ late wife Faye through the Everywhen, the gods’ afterlife. The game has no official release date, but Woll has been discussing it in interviews, including one with CGMagazine, prompting fans to comb through older conversations with the God of War team for signs that Laufey was planned long ago.

Woll and members of Santa Monica Studios say they had been in talks about Laufey for several years. Woll says she had to keep the whole game a secret for “nearly 10 years.” “[Director Cory Barlog] pitched [Laufey] to me in 2018, and they had known about it before then,” she told CGMagazine.

“It’s wild. Like when Cory brought me in to talk about doing Ragnarök and show me the 2018 game, he already had a poster for the Laufey game with me and a cube. A cube that’s been there since the beginning.
