Fans Push Back After Sonic ARG Requests Data for AI Training

On June 23 the official Sonic the Hedgehog account posted: “The Chaos Emeralds have destabilized and are scattering across the U.S. We need your help to recover them before Dr. Eggman finds them so we can power Club Chaos this Fall.” The message invited fans to join a new augmented reality game called the Chaos Hunt, but when players tried to sign up they were hit with a prompt to let Sega use their data to train AI.
