Fans brace for terrifying realism in Ocarina of Time remake
Genuine nightmare fuel, for some, comes from hyper-realistic takes on cartoon characters with their features intact. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time contains several entities that could look especially cursed in the upcoming remake as the visuals lean toward realism.
King Zora is one example — a plump fishman who sits atop a waterfall and, unless significantly redesigned, may feel like a creature from Pan's Labyrinth. "I hope the developers possess the courage to extend the length of the cutscene," says a top-rated comment on Reddit.
ReDeads and Dead Hand are other contenders: fleshy, corpse-like beings that shamble toward the player, and areas such as the Bottom of the Well could take on a Silent Hill atmosphere. One fan on Twitter predicts, "They’ll make them look 'realistic' but give them new sounds that aren’t scary.
