A developer known as Elber88 has released a ground-up fan remake of the original 1999 Medal of Honor built in Unreal Engine 4. It reuses original game logic and assets from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, effectively making the series debut playable on PC for the first time.

The remake proved popular, and Elber continued work on it. Version 1.1 delivers numerous fixes and player-requested improvements and, notably, includes an extra level that was cut from the original game. The added mission is set in Colditz Castle. Surviving screenshots and data in the game's LEVEL.BIN files suggest it would have involved intelligence gathering and an attempt to assassinate the castle commandant; with only limited information available, Elber has taken creative license and implemented the level as his own interpretation.
