Famke Janssen says Marvel 'made a mistake' over Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be the biggest Marvel crossover in history, uniting the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men. The X-Men were the biggest reveal during the famous Avengers: Doomsday chair announcement video, with names like James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Kelsey Grammer and Rebecca Romijn confirmed to return.
Not every original X-Men actor was included. Famke Janssen, who played Jean Grey in the original trilogy and in cameos in The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past, said at SpaceCon (via Popverse) that she was not asked to return and added, "I think they made a mistake, but hey, who am I?
I’m just a little me who thinks that." Audience skepticism about cast denials is high after past surprises, and fans have hoped Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Janssen might reprise their roles. Janssen remains adamant she is not returning, saying, "I am so bad at keeping secrets that I always say to everyone I’m the worst actor in the world.
