Prime Video has added Emily Mortimer, Manny Jacinto and Thomasin McKenzie to the main cast of Fallout’s third season. They join Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten and Kyle MacLachlan; Aaron Paul was recently cast as well. Production for the upcoming season begins in Los Angeles this month.

The series has been a strong performer for Prime Video: the first season surpassed 100 million views as of October 2024 and earned 17 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and a lead-actor nod for Goggins. The second season drew generally positive reviews but faced criticism for some circuitous storytelling.

Season 3 was greenlit in May 2025, before the second season aired. For new viewers, the show follows Lucy (Purnell), a naive vault dweller who leaves her vault for post-apocalyptic Los Angeles in search of her father (MacLachlan). Along the way she meets The Ghoul (Goggins), a mutated former actor turned near-immortal gunslinger, and crosses paths with the Brotherhood of Steel, portrayed as a band of technofascist jerks.
