'Fallen' (2016) Ending, Explained: Who Does Luce End Up With?

The film adaptation of Fallen was a critical and commercial flop, yet it plays like a gothic teenage heaven. Lucinda "Luce" Price arrives at Sword and Cross Academy, haunted by a past involving a fire and the death of a boy named Trevor, and she becomes caught between the brooding Daniel and the mysterious Cam.

At the film's climax Luce must choose: a long, ordinary life with Cam or undying love with Daniel at the risk of dying the instant they kiss. She kisses Daniel and this time she does not die, but Lucifer is coming and Daniel and Cam peel off into an angel showdown rendered with gloriously unconvincing CGI wings.

The real twist is Miss Sophia's betrayal—she murders Penn, drops the gargoyle to force Daniel to pick a side, and tries to kill Luce before the shadows take her. Because Fallen fared poorly, planned sequels never materialized, leaving the lovers-on-the-run ending open.
