Faizon Love's fall from stardom to arrest

Actor and comedian Faizon Love was arrested on charges tied to a child support dispute after saying he could not pay $250,000 because he was broke. He was taken to the Orient Road Jail in Tampa, Florida, on June 18, 2026, and is being held without bond. In court documents he said he had earned only $13,000 in the past five years and had no income in the last year.

Love built a long career in film and television, beginning as a comedian on the series "L.A. Friday" (1988–1990) and appearing in 1990s films such as "Friday" as Big Worm. He was a regular on "The Parent ‘Hood" (1995–1998) and played the Gimbel store manager in the 2003 film "Elf." Other credits include "Couples Retreat," "That’s So Raven," "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "Zookeeper" and the 2023 film "The Last Stop in Yuma County." Legal troubles have shadowed Love for years.

In 2017 he was arrested after an altercation with an airport employee, pleaded no contest, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail.
