Fable Reboot Delayed to February 2027
The long-awaited Fable reboot has been pushed from its late 2026 release window to February 2027, an official Xbox social post confirmed. The move delays the series' return to Albion 17 years after its last mainline entry.
Xbox said the timing change was less about the game's state and more about giving the reboot "the dedicated moment it deserves." Although not stated explicitly, the shift may aim to avoid clashing with Grand Theft Auto VI's November 19 launch.
The delay also frees up development time for Playground Games, which had just delivered Forza Horizon 6 this month, allowing more polishing before Fable arrives.
Xbox added that Fable will feature heavily at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, where fans are expected to get the most extensive look yet. The presentation will include other upcoming titles such as Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, Control Resonant, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
