Fable delayed to February 2027 amid crowded release slate
Microsoft has pushed Fable into 2027, a month after denying a rumor that the move would be intended to avoid Grand Theft Auto 6. The company said the year is "packed with incredible games," and listed GTA 6 among the lineup.
The official Xbox list includes Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Control Resonant, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and Grand Theft Auto 6.
"In order to plan our game launches through the holidays, we're moving Fable to February 2027 so it can have the dedicated moment it deserves," Microsoft said, adding that players will get a major new look at Fable and the broader lineup at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.
The February 2027 target replaces the previous fall 2026 launch window. While more specific, the date remains tentative: Fable has been discussed since at least 2019, and it follows a decade after the release of Fable 3.
