109-minute thriller Exterritorial becomes one of Netflix's biggest hits

Exterritorial, a 109-minute Netflix original released April 30, 2025, has climbed to fourth place on the platform's list of most popular non-English films globally, with 91,700,000 views and 166,500,000 hours viewed. Jeanne Goursaud stars as Sara, a former Special Forces soldier whose son vanishes during a visit to the US consulate in Frankfurt; nobody in the building seems to remember him, and the film follows her as she fights through the consulate while a larger conspiracy tightens around her.

Written and directed by Christian Zübert, Exterritorial also features Dougray Scott, Lera Abova, Kayode Akinyemi, Annabelle Mandeng, Samuel Tehrani, Jeremy Schuetze, Kris Saddler and Nina Liu. The film debuted at number one, attracting 62 million views in its first two weeks.
