Expedition 73 Crew Reflects on Science, Teamwork and Life in Orbit
On June 16, astronauts and cosmonauts gathered at Space Center Houston for an Expedition 73 Welcome Home Ceremony, bringing together members of SpaceX Crew-10, Soyuz MS-27 and SpaceX Crew-11. The crews reflected on the science, partnerships and international collaboration that defined their time aboard the International Space Station, while Johnson Space Center Director Vanessa Wyche and other leaders recognized the team members on the ground who supported the missions.
During Expedition 73, all available docking ports were occupied at the same time for the first time, with eight spacecraft attached to the station. The crew supported visiting missions such as Axiom Mission 4, completed three spacewalks to install hardware for future solar array upgrades, and maintained a full schedule of scientific investigations.
The expedition also included six cargo missions, the inaugural flight of JAXA’s HTV-X1 cargo spacecraft, and more than 37,000 pounds of supplies, equipment and investigations delivered to the station.
