Nottingham Forest have placed a valuation on Elliot Anderson that could rise as high as £115m, and Manchester City have persisted with interest as they prioritise midfield recruitment during a post-Guardiola rebuild. City’s initial approach for the 23-year-old was rebuffed as Forest stood firm on their price.

Shaun Wright-Phillips voiced scepticism about that tag, saying Anderson is “a fantastic player” but questioning whether owners’ inflated demands match the market. “It would surprise me to see any team in England go in at that price,” he added, while noting City’s previous maximum outlay of £100m was an exception.

Anderson’s 2025-26 numbers underline his rise: he topped the Premier League for duels won and total touches, having developed into a deeper-lying No.6 or No.8. He has spoken about finding comfort in centre-mid and nailing a position since leaving the North East.
