Evo 2026 is struggling to attract as many competitors

Final registration numbers for Evo 2026 show a clear decline from 2025. The tournament remains the world’s largest fighting game event and takes place each year in Las Vegas; thousands are still signed up for games such as Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, but returning titles saw notable drop-offs.

Street Fighter 6 led entries with 2,414 participants, down from 4,228 at Evo 2025. Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves registered similar declines, while Rivals of Aether 2 drew more entrants than last year.

Evo did not draw attention to the lower numbers, but players and observers noticed on Bluesky, X, and Reddit, prompting speculation about causes.
