Everything We Know About Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a full remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 by Flying Wild Hog with assistance from Crystal Dynamics. While it revisits Lara Croft’s first adventure, the game will alter puzzles, combat and platforming rather than offer a strict one-to-one recreation.
The release date is February 12, 2027, after an earlier plan to launch in 2026. Legacy of Atlantis will appear on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC. The remake is placed in the same timeline as the Survivor Trilogy, acting as a sequel to that arc and displacing the original 1996 game (and the 2007 Anniversary remake) from the unified timeline.
That shift makes Tomb Raider 2 a canonical follow-up to Legacy of Atlantis. Lara has been recast: Alix Wilton Regan replaces Camilla Luddington and will also play Lara in the 2027 game Tomb Raider: Catalyst. Catalyst is set later in Lara’s life, after the events of Underworld, so it and Legacy of Atlantis show the character at different points in the same continuity.
