Every Year After Leads Prime Video’s 2026 Trend of Book Adaptations
Every Year After, now No. 1 on Flix Patrol, is part of a clear 2026 trend on Prime Video: intimate, book-based series that blend romance and coming-of-age drama. The show, adapted from Carley Fortune’s Every Summer After, has drawn attention for its emotional focus and steamy moments.
The story follows Percy Fraser (Sadie Soverall), who meets the Florek brothers, Charlie (Michael Bradway) and Sam (Matt Cornett), as a teenager and encounters them again years later when relationships and responsibilities have grown more complicated. The series has been described as a meditation on first love, aging, family and the magic of summertime.
Prime currently has multiple book adaptations in the streaming charts: Every Year After sits at No. 1, Off Campus is No. 2, and The Summer I Turned Pretty is No. 9 on Flix Patrol. The service also released 56 Days, a thriller adapted from Catherine Ryan Howard’s 2021 novel, in February.
