Eve Hewson Says Dad Bono Spoke 'Alien Language' to Emily Blunt

With the nationwide theatrical release of the Steven Spielberg-directed Disclosure Day approaching, Eve Hewson stopped by TODAY to discuss the film and share a behind-the-scenes story involving her father, Bono.

Hewson said that when Emily Blunt came to dinner, Bono "started doing the alien language she does in the trailer," and Hewson admitted, "Ah, he's such an embarrassing dad." She added that her father is very involved, texting her reviews on things.

Disclosure Day also stars Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor and marks a return to the alien genre Spielberg last explored in the 1982 classic E.T. The movie's central storyline follows cybersecurity administrator Daniel Kellner (O'Connor) admitting to stealing secrets about non-humans he was hired to hide, while meteorologist Margaret Fairchild (Blunt) begins speaking in clicks on live television and Kellner reveals he can understand her.

Disclosure Day arrives in theaters on Friday, June 12, 2026.
