Euphoria Season 3 Finale Draws 8.7 Million Viewers Despite Backlash
Sydney Sweeney has reached the end of her run as Cassie Howard on HBO's Euphoria, a role that earned her an Emmy nomination in 2022. After a four-year gap between seasons, Season 3 aired on HBO from April to May 2026 and delivered the show's final eight episodes.
The season pushed boundaries and offered one shocking reveal after another, with most of the main characters killed off by the time the finale aired on May 31. Cassie was among the few principal characters to survive; her husband, Nate Jacobs, was killed in Episode 7, leaving her alone and facing mounting debt.
The series finale drew 8.7 million cross-platform viewers in the United States over its first three days, slightly above the Season 3 premiere's 8.5 million and just below the 8.9 million for Episode 3. Season 3 reached 25 million viewers worldwide, up about 17% from Season 2's 21.5 million, even as critical response cooled—the final season sits at 44% positive reviews after the first two seasons earned "Certified Fresh" distinctions.
