'Euphoria' ended worse than 'Game of Thrones' and 'Stranger Things'
Critics and fans blasted the supersized, 93-minute finale of Euphoria Season 3, calling it tawdry, tasteless and accusing the writing of squandering its all-star cast. The episode kills Rue halfway through after she swipes pills from Alamo and overdoses on fentanyl, a turn many found grim and anticlimactic.
Ali finds Rue unresponsive on his couch and later, wearing his old military uniform, goes to Alamo’s strip club with a gun and fatally shoots him. Much of the finale focuses on gang violence, while Laurie and her redneck gang are apprehended by the DEA and police; Laurie ties a noose around her neck and throws herself off a building rather than get arrested.
Cassie’s OnlyFans storyline occupies the season but her screen time in the finale is surprisingly minimal, and the episode spends more time on Kitty’s derriere than on some original characters such as Jules.
