Ethereum Foundation co-executive director Hsiao-Wei Wang resigns

Hsiao-Wei Wang, co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, has stepped down from her role effective immediately. She said a recent sabbatical gave her time to reflect on her priorities and future plans and wrote on X, "I've come to feel that this is the right moment for me to step back." Her departure follows the resignation of fellow co-executive director Tomasz Stańczak, who announced earlier this year that he would leave after helping steer a leadership transition at the Switzerland-based nonprofit that supports Ethereum's ecosystem development.

During Wang's sabbatical, board member Bastian Aue helped oversee the leadership transition and has taken on a larger role guiding the organization in the interim following the departures of both co-executive directors. Wang's exit adds to a period of upheaval at the Ethereum Foundation.
