Ethan Slater makes first public appearance after Ariana Grande split

Ethan Slater was all smiles as he made his first public appearance after news of his and Ariana Grande’s breakup. The actor, 34, walked the red carpet solo at Shakespeare in the Park’s "Romeo & Juliet" at Central Park’s Delacorte Theater in New York City on Thursday.

He cut a casual figure in black pants, a white T-shirt and matching sneakers. The outing came three days after it was confirmed he and his "Wicked" co-star, 32, have been over for months.

"Ariana and Ethan broke up several months ago but they’ve remained friends since then and have nothing but respect and admiration for one another," a source told us Monday. The insider noted, "Ariana is feeling really happy and focused on the next chapter with her ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour and the upcoming release of her album ‘Petal.'"

Slater’s absence from Grande’s tour had fueled breakup speculation, though he did subtly show support by "liking" her performance pictures on Instagram.
