England completed their official World Cup preparations with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Costa Rica in a rain-delayed final warm-up in Orlando. It was a bruising encounter against a physical opponent, but Thomas Tuchel's side kept their composure to dominate in the sweltering heat, with goals from Declan Rice, Anthony Gordon and Ollie Watkins.

Kick-off was pushed back an hour after a thunderstorm waterlogged the pitch, yet England started brightly. Rice swept home via a deflection inside 10 minutes following lively work from Gordon down the left, while Jude Bellingham had an effort graze wide. Harry Kane saw a header well saved and Noni Madueke somehow hit the post from an open goal, and a potential first-half penalty for Gordon was ruled out by VAR.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Madueke curled a fierce effort just wide early on, then Gordon converted a 66th-minute penalty after a Costa Rica handball.
